The Fretliners – 2023 Band Contest Winners at both the 50th Telluride Bluegrass & 51st Rockygrass Festivals. Returning to RiverWonderGrass in 2025, The Fretliners are a genuine and powerful bluegrass quartet recognized for their songwriting and undeniable chemistry. Their newfound camaraderie produces an energy that is as infectious on stage as it is on record.

With one eye on the rear-view, inspired by that traditional high lonesome sound, The Fretliners navigate a road less traveled into the peaks of Rocky Mountain original bluegrass.

RIVER INFORMATION

Located in the beautiful Dinosaur National Monument, over 200,000 acres of pristine river wilderness, this 5-day Yampa River rafting wilderness trip meanders 72 miles through three beautiful canyons on two rivers. Spend the first three days exploring Yampa Canyon on the Yampa River in Colorado. On day four enter the Green River and Utah to follow part of John Wesley Powell’s expedition of 1869.

The Yampa is one of the west’s last free-flowing rivers and is untamed. What this means is that the flows can be high, the rapids challenging and the experience heartwarming. Most rapids are class III, one is class IV. The weather this time of year can be cooler at night with all types of situations possible.

These intimate river journeys bring together members of the WWG artist community and friends on an adventure through the heart of desert canyons. Empty sandy beaches, majestic hikes, thrilling whitewater, riverside camping, and musical floats are combined with healthy foods, deep conversation, and space to reconnect with each other. Take in riverside musical performances each evening plus improvisational jams.

The trip includes all meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner (organic and local when possible), all equipment, guides, music, and experiences. Tip not included. Alcohol is not included. Guests may bring their own beverages, NO DRINKING ON THE RIVER OR UNTIL WE GET TO CAMP EACH DAY. NO DRUG USE ON THE TRIP. Further trip information can be viewed on the PACK menu of the website.
