Growing up just half a mile from the Adrift boathouse in Jensen, Utah, on a large farm bustling with animals, Tamilyn’s childhood was deeply rooted in the local landscape. By the age of three, she had already learned to ride horses, a passion that led her to compete in numerous horse shows throughout her childhood and teenage years. Beyond equestrian pursuits, Tami was also an enthusiastic hog and sheep showman, proudly presenting her prize animals at the Uintah Basin Jr. Livestock Show in Vernal, Utah.
After high school, Tami moved to Salt Lake City, where she spent several years building a life and starting her family. During this time, she dedicated herself to The Adoption Exchange’s board, an organization close to her heart that helps foster children find permanent families.
An exciting opportunity at Adrift Dinosaur eventually called Tami back to her roots in Jensen. Missing the familiar comforts of her childhood, she returned to be closer to family and friends and to join the Adrift crew. Her dedication quickly led to a promotion to Front House Manager, and soon after, her two children joined the Adrift team as river guides. Tami has happily rebuilt her life in Jensen, where she enjoys the stunning views of Split Mountain and cherishes the environment she calls home.
Fun fact: It seems there isn’t an animal that doesn’t instantly adore Tami and seek out her snuggles!
