Raft Guide Trainee

Previous rafting experience is not required to become a guide for Adrift Adventures, but successful applicants will need to complete a raft guide training course on the Colorado River, Green River and on the Yampa River.  The dates for the guide training are May 17 – May 25, 2024.  Completion of the guide training/intensive and additional miles on the Green River Daily will be needed before a qualification run can be attempted. Aspiring guides all come to skills and confidence at their own time , so we set no timeline on qualifying. Raft guide trainees should be able to work well with a team, be customer service oriented and have a passion for the outdoors. Qualified candidates should also be interested in learning about the history, geology and environment of Dinosaur National Monument and sharing that knowledge with guests.

Trainees must successfully qualify to become an employee at Adrift Adventures. All commercial raft guides must have current First Aid and CPR certification (online courses are not accepted). Required personal equipment include a type III pfd, throw bag, flip line, helmet, whistle and river knife. Splash top, splash pants, poly pro, fleece, neoprene socks and/or similar gear are highly recommended. Pro deals are offered through Adrift Adventures upon your arrival.
