Blix comes from the land of corn and cows deep in rural Iowa, but now resides among the towering saguaros of Tucson. She likes to joke she had her midlife crisis early and after teaching for 5 years in the public education system, she became a raft guide in 2021. Blix has now fallen in love with not only the rivers in Dinosaur National monument, but also the Salt River in Arizona. You’ll most likely find her splashing around on the daily run as your trip leader and telling you the names of all the rocks and critters running around.
During the off season, Blix’s other love is cycling. You can find her mountain biking, gravel riding or bikepacking all over the country. Blix also throws down a mean dice in Dungeons and Dragons and looks for any excuse to talk about fantasy, folk tales and the all around weird. You might even get lucky on a multi-day and see the elusive canyon wizard. She looks forward to making you comfortable and stoked about whitewater on the beautiful rivers!
